okay

alright. here are some better, more clear, pictures of the front of our house. Unfortunately, Jeb was still not able to put up our sweet porch light. Maybe one day.

And some better ones of the front of the house:

Next on the list: Make that post look straight!

woo!

Jeb mounted our TV this weekend. Totally sweet.

I also found two pretty cute white end tables at a sale on the side of the road! This lady on 24th street sells antiques and what not, and I ended up getting them for $30.00 for the pair. A little more than I would have liked to pay, but well worth it. I will post pictures as soon as I upload them. I have some on my phone....but as you can see, that does not take very good pictures sometimes.

NOTE: one day we will have nice speakers for our surround sound! The sound quality of those are great. And I am sure that when their previous owner bought them, they were extremely expensive. But, they aren't the prettiest things around....

before and after

I wish I had a good picture of before I painted the front door!

Please ignore the uncut grass, messy porch, crooked post, bare spot under front windows and unfinished door. haha.
Before I painted the front door was this awful brown colored wood and the screen door (which was SOOO old) was gray and beaten up. I still need to put one more coat of paint on the front door, hence the painters tape still up and mess on the porch. And Jeb still needs to re-screen the top panel of the screen door. I bought 3 cans of white spray paint and only used two which only cost me about 10 bucks. And for the front door I bought a quart of paint for about 7 bucks (I think). It is a very dark blue to match the shutters. And I think a roll of screen was only about 6 bucks.

This house is just a rental, but our rent is pretty cheap and the house is really old and kinda junky. So, while we live there the next few years, we don't mind spending a few bucks here and there on paint and what not. We also have a really cute porch light Jeb is going to put up (one day). The electrical wiring in the house is SO old that when he tried to put it up last weekend, sparks kept flying out every time he turned the power back on. Not good.

I am thinking that in the spring I might put a small flower bed under the two front windows. Nothing crazy, maybe some small bushes of some sort and some Hostis (spelling) (which I can get from my mom!)

And then I need to get the front post fixed! Which should be pretty easy. We will just make it LOOK straight by wrapping it in aluminum or something(thanks to my dad most likely). It helps knowing people in the construction business. :)

verizon fios = LAME

When we moved into our new house, down at the ocean front, we unfortunately had to get rid of our service with Verizon Fios because they don't offer it down there. Well, I had called to cancel it back in march. March 30th, to be exact. I have never been late on any of my payments for anything (with the exception of one time forgetting to pay my car payment, when I thought I did, years ago. SO, anyways, the past two months I have noticed I have gotten bills via email from Verizon and the amounts don't match my paper bills for my cell phone. I just figured Verizon messed something up and would work itself out until this past Saturday i received an email bill saying i owed $380.00 by August 31st!!! So, I called this morning and it appears as though my account was never canceled and they turned off my service due to non payment!!!! I sent back my equipment in April via UPS just like the lady on the phone said. I even got a confirmation number and the name of the lady I spoke with. However, that wasn't good enough because the confirmation number I had, they say was for when i canceled my phone service, which was months prior to me canceling my whole service. My only other hope to not have to pay this is to get the tracking info from UPS as proof I did return the equipment. And maybe when I get home I can search for any other paperwork I might have. Eeek.

well well well

It turns out that Jeb might not join the Army after all. (sorry but, I told you so) I think I am happy about this though. I won't having to worry about moving anytime soon. I won't have to worry about where we will live and how we will fit our 3 pets into an apartment. I won't have to worry about Jeb... He might go back to school in the spring but who knows. He changes is mind so many times.

But, no matter what he chooses to do, I'll always be proud of him.

redo

I really want to improve my house a little. I really would like to add some new throw pillows in my living room. Some new lamps. And I would really like to get new bedding. Only problem, I am on a super tight budget. SO, thanks to Brittany's brilliant idea, I think I may get my mom to help me recover the pillows I already have! I had seen some decent priced lamps at Marshall's the other day. I might have to do some more bargain shopping for lighting. And as for new bedding, I already have TONS of comforter/blankets that I could make a cover for. Then all I would need to do is buy some new sheets, which, Marshalls and TJ Maxx are perfect for things like that. They usually have a pretty good deal on really nice sheets. Maybe tonight I can talk mom into going to the fabric store or something. I think if I just had a few changes in my house, it might just brighten things up, including my mood.
